There has been a recent interest in fish meals and restaurants this year, perhaps coming with the opening and aggressive advertisement by the restaurant that makes the swordfish recipes grilled. When they came into the restaurant business and lit up the city, everyone developed a little interest about what it was that went on in there, probably because so many fish lovers would throng the place and come out laughing, happy and satisfied. Then they developed this fancy website that showed pictures of their lovely recipes, and so many people finally decided they had to try it out at least once. But I do not think once can afford to go there only once. After the first meal, you really have to go back for the next again and again. So many families that did not include fish in their diet have now found a new way to add happiness to their meals and now ask around for more fish cooking recipes.
The original cannoli filling used to be made of fresh ricotta cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla, orange zest, Cointreau liquor and chocolate chips. When the Italians immigrated to North America they brought the recipe with them. However not all the ingredients were available when they came to America so they opted for different ingredients. Some are made with mascarpone rather than ricotta. Even the Ricotta is debated, as to whether or not it is fresh or dry. The type of sugar varies from ground sugar to powdered sugar. Some cannoli use vanilla or cinnamon. And then there is the option of adding everything from chocolate to cherries to nuts. Either way, cannoli can be found in almost every pastry shop or grocery store and can be made in any home. Making the filling is more difficult than making the pastry. Whichever recipe is used for the filling depends on one’s taste.
